What has Nokia got in store for Mobile World Congress? We check out the rumours to see what sound plausible
There's been a lot of talk of a Nokia Windows tablet for some time now and it is possible the company will finally enter tablet territory at Mobile World Congress shortly.
However, some analysts don’t believe Nokia will introduce a Lumia Windows tablet at MWC. Company chief exec Stephen Elop’s open discussion on the subject implies to us that something is more likely in the works than not.
But, at the same time it is probably very early days in development terms. If we’re honest we don’t expect it to show.
The only other Nokia-based rumours don’t point at MWC specifically, but are just as much in the running for possible attendees and there’s always a chance we’ll see some early demonstration hardware there.
Reports claim Nokia is working on another PureView camera-equipped Lumia Windows Phone, codenamed the Nokia EOS which will have an even more advanced PureView setup than the Lumia 920 and will, allegedly, be made of aluminium to lighten the load.
We doubt it will use the same beefy 41-megapixel setup as the Nokia 808 Pureview, but the optical image stabilisation from the Lumia 920 is likely to make a return.
Elop has talked a lot about how much Nokia has invested in camera technology and how far ahead of the curve the company is in this area. It’s betting big on camera phones propelling the Lumia brand forward, so if we see anything like this at MWC you can expect it to be something pretty special.
A separate rumour also says Nokia has a revamped Lumia 920 in the works also made from aluminium and codenamed the ‘Lumia Catwalk’.
Nokia may debut two further Lumia models at the show with the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720.
The Lumia 720 is pegged as a budget model with a 4.3-inch display and a dual-core 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, likely made by Qualcomm. MicroSD support is also said to be included.
The Lumia 520 will have a similar spec but a smaller 4-inch display.
A Lumia 1000 is also rumoured but not much is known.

Highly descriptive article, I liked that a lot. Will there be a part 2?
