Google Babel is on all of our Android powered minds, and we are getting closer and closer to its launch. The latest supposed screenshots and info have definitely the community excited. Seems that the highly anticipated messaging app, is playing a little hide and seek in the code of an app we use at a daily basis.
Today, we come to find that there is some Google Babel hidden in the Gmail source code. The code mentions how you can upgrade your chat to Babel, and that there will be apps available across platforms.
Upgrade Chat to Babel! Babel is Google’s new messenger with clients for Android, iOS, Chrome, Google+ and Gmail. Access the same conversation list from anywhere!
Some of the new features:
* A new, conversation-based UI
* Advanced group conversations
* Send pictures
* Improved notifications across devices.You’re about to revert the Babel chat client to the old Gmail chat client. You can always opt in back from the chat roster menu.
Very interesting. Looks like with each piece of leaked information, Google Babel just sounds better and better. You can almost say good-bye to SMS, because it seems that Babel will be taking over message services for not just Android devices, but devices on numerous platforms. Let us know what you guys think about this.
