Facebook thinks you look at your homescreen 100 times a day and normally you jut see the clock or weather widget - sometimes a snippet of your email - but not much else. Coverfeed aims to show more.
When you turn on your phone, you see the clock, your picture at the bottom and pictures in the background that represent Facebook stories, whether your friends check in, post on Instagram, share links or post status updates.
Status updates are displayed with a cover photo in the background and the status update in front so pictures take centre stage.
If you see something you like you can double tap to Like or long press to zoom out and then just swipe through.
If you want to comment on something, tap the comment icon and it will open up the comments inline. Just add your comment and then when you’re done - you can just swipe the comment stream pop up away.
The whole of Coverfeed is based on simple gestures – tapping, swiping, pressing so there's nothing between you and your content.
There’s no navigation, applications or anything separating you from your contacts and their photos, updates and check ins.
Coverfeed will show you the most important things in one place - right at the heart of your Android smartphone.
Where Coverfeed will show you what's happening around you, notifications will show you THE most important updates such as a new SMS, Facebook messages from certain people and you can just tap on them to open up the Facebook, SMS or other app that the notification is targeted at.
If you have one notification you don’t want to read, you can swipe it away. If you have lots of notifications, you can press and hold one to stack them into one pile, and then swipe the whole pile away.
It’s moving away from tasks and onto people and their content.
