WWDC announced for June 10-14 and iOS 7 launch top of agenda

WWDC has been formally announced for June 10-14 and the launch of iOS 7 will be at the top of the agenda

Apple's World Wide Developers' Conference will take place June 10-14 and everyone will be waiting to hear about iOS 7.

Apple has officially announced that its annual conference will happen in San Francisco, just as it does every year, and tickets go on sale tomorrow (April 24) at 1PM ET (6PM GMT).

Apple has a history of announcing its updated platform at WWDC and, hopefully, this year will be no different.

Last year Apple announced iOS 6, which including improvements to Siri, Facetime over mobile networks and an updated Safari browser. Passbook was also introduced, allowing you to keep all your boarding passes and barcode-based tickets such as those for the cinema or theatre in one place. So, not much, really.

This year's announcement says, 'Get an in-depth look at what’s next in iOS and OS X, and learn how to take your apps to the next level. With over 100 sessions, extensive hands–on labs, and engaging events, you’ll connect with Apple engineers and fellow developers for an incredible week of inspiration.'

We're hoping for a lot more from iOS 7, especially if it's coming to the iPhone 5S when it launches in Autumn.

Although any related hardware launches have reportedly been delayed, most notably the iPhone 5S, we hope iOS 7 will still be interesting enough to set the world alight.

'Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software and services that we can't wait to introduce in the fall and throughout 2014,' Apple CEO Tim Cook told analysts at its annual earnings conference call.

In the past, Apple would reserve its iPhone launch until WWDC too, but production has been delayed, as it was last year, which means the release date of Apple's next phone probably isn't scheduled until September.
