HTC One coming in Red and Blue, report claims

HTC planning blue HTC One for launch alongside red version

HTC will launch a new blue coloured variant of the HTC One alongside its previously leaked red coloured stable-mate ‘in the coming months’, according to a report.

Pocket-lint claims to have spoken to ‘sources familiar with the matter’ who revealed the blue model, which still hasn’t been seen, will hit retail alongside the red version which has had press shots widely circulated.

Nothing more specific than ‘blue’ has been mentioned, so we don’t know if it’s going to be a light sky blue or a dark navy. The leaked red version is quite bright though so we suspect it will be similarly eye-catching.

The red model has previously appeared on an online retailer’s webstore with a price tag of £503.99, this was after it showed up on HTC’s official site and was subsequently removed. That particular fact suggests the red version is definitely official and will arrive at some point, but the blue model is just talk, for now.

Unfortunately we’re still none-the-wiser on when these coloured HTC One’s might land with retailers. HTC is remaining tight-lipped on the matter. We suspect they’ll launch sooner rather than later, however, as this seems like an attempt to compete with the increasing number of colourful handsets from rivals such as Nokia, Samsung and, according to rumours, Apple’s next iPhone, which is said to come in a wide range of hues.

HTC is also known to be working on the so-called ‘M4’, a smaller and lower-spec variant of the HTC One at a more affordable price. More recently rumours surfaced of the HTC ‘T6’ phablet handset. It’s not yet clear what size display the T6 might carry, unless the 6 in its name is an indication.

We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
