HTC may be readying a larger variant of the HTC One with a 5-inch plus display if rumours are to be believed.
According to Pocket-lint’s ‘people familiar with the matter’ the bigger handset will have exactly the same spec as its smaller counterpart aside from a massive display set to rival the Samsung Galaxy S4.

The source could not reveal an exact display size but asserted it would be bigger than 5-inches, however, it won’t be as big as 6-inches so we’re not looking at something to rival Samsung’s unwieldy Galaxy Mega 6.3 or the Huawei Ascend Mate. Either way it should be a good deal larger than the regular HTC One which sports a 4.7-inch display.
It’s already been widely circulated that HTC is developing a smaller, cheaper version of the HTC One with a similar form factor but a lower spec, known as the HTC M4 (compared to the HTC One’s codename: M7). This smaller device will have a 4.3-inch display but it’s not clear what it will be called on release with some reports proposing the moniker: HTC One Mini.
Recent benchmarks and announcements have also revealed HTC has a range of ‘Desire’ branded mid-range models in the works with the HTC Desire 200 and HTC Desire 600.

Despite problems with the HTC First’s poor sales, multiple executives leaving the company and supply issues with launching the HTC One, things are looking up for HTC as inside sources have apparently revealed the company has sold as many as 5 million HTC One handsets since launch. This is half the figure of Samsung Galaxy S4’s sold during a similar time period, but considering the apparent gap between the two companies in terms of product visibility and marketing spend this is quite a good result.
