Although still in closed-beta, Google‘s team at Niantic Labs added an update to its game, Ingress. Described as a “global game of mystery, intrigue, and competition,” Ingress combines socially-driven interaction with strategic planning.
The story involves a controlling, “mysterious energy” discovered in Europe, with “The Enlightened” hoping to harness the energy and “The Resistance” struggling to protect humanity. You can request an invite on the Ingress website or check the project out on Facebook, Twitter and G+.
