A batch of new Samsung products may be on the way as the Korean manufacturer has scheduled a big event for its Galaxy and Ativ product lines next month.
Taking place in London on June 20, the event entitled ‘Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy & Ativ’ is thought to be the debut event for at least one or two new devices. However, there is the possibility we’ll see multiple devices launched.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Mini was rumoured for a launch between the end of May and sometime in June, so it’s a prime candidate. The phone is thought to feature a bodyshell similarly sized to the Galaxy S3 Mini but with a larger 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display and a host of contemporary goodies such as eye-tracking functionality and Samsung’s Group Play wireless music playback. It’ll have a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and Android 4.2.2.
It was also thought a handful of other Galaxy S4 variants could emerge alongside including the Galaxy S4 Active ‘rugged’ model, which will be water and dust resistant, and a handset dubbed the Galaxy S4 Zoom which is said to feature a 16-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom.
We’ve also seen one slip-up from Samsung which suggested a ‘Galaxy S4 Mega’ but it’s still not clear if that was a mistake referring to either the Galaxy Mega 6.3 or an alternate name for one of the aforementioned devices.
Some blogs and tech sites have begun speculating that the event will see the Galaxy Note 3’s debut, but somehow we doubt this as Samsung’s own executives have confirmed previously the handset will appear at IFA 2013 in Berlin, just as its predecessor did in 2012.
Samsung's London event takes place from 6pm GMT on Thursday 20 June. We haven't had an invitation just yet but hopefully, all being well, we'll be reporting live when it kicks off.
