Image of unreleased Galaxy S4 Mini inadvertently uploaded to Samsung official UK apps site

An image of the as-yet-unannounced Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has appeared online thanks to an oversight by its Korean creator.

The upcoming scaled-down smartphone appeared on Samsung's UK apps site under the Content & Services tab. Users of the site can organise search results in a number of ways including 'sort by device'. When this option is selected, the site lists each of Samsung's devices by name and photo, and the S4 Mini is included in the results.

Unfortunately, detailed spec information did not accompany the image and the listing has now been swiftly removed. However, judging from the brief glimpse of the device offered, rumours that the S4 Mini could feature a 4.3-inch display as opposed to the 5-inch screen sported by the original Samsung Galaxy S4 look to have some credibility.

Not much else could be garnered from the diminutive device's brief appearance although the very fact that it did show up on an official Samsung channel has ignited speculation that a release is imminent. The precursor to the Galaxy S4 was released in May last year with the Galaxy S3 mini following in November and should Samsung stick to a similar release schedule, we could be waiting until October for the S4 Mini to hit shelves.

Elsewhere other rumours point towards the S4 Mini coming in four different variants - one standard edition, one dual-SIM, one LTE-enabled and one specifically for the Chinese market. Concrete sources for all this information are thin on the ground at present and its hoped that Samsung will put expectant Galaxy fans out of their misery with official comment sooner rather than later.
