Photos have leaked online of the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and, oddly enough, it looks like a miniaturised Galaxy S4.
With the Galaxy S4 Mini you’ve got the same overall shape, the same shiny patterned back panel and the same principle of an enlarged screen crammed into a smaller body with barely any bezel around it.
While it might be Mini by name it’s not necessarily so by nature, at least in terms of screen real-estate. Last year’s Galaxy S3 Mini’s 4-inch display has expanded to 4.3-inches, which might seem small by current standards of the 5-inch titans crowding the current market, but it’s not that dinky and is bigger than the iPhone 5’s 4-inch display.
The screen is thought to still be Super AMOLED and reportedly packs a 960x540 pixel resolution at 256 pixels-per-inch (ppi). Meanwhile, the chassis is no bigger than the Galaxy S3 Mini, which measured around 120mm tall, one of the leaked photos shows the Galaxy S4 Mini next to a ruler and we can see it’s about the same.
The S3 Mini was also around 63mm wide and it looks as though the S4 Mini may have actually got narrower at nearer to 55mm. We’ve not hint as to how thick the phone might be but the trend is always towards thinner devices so perhaps we’ll see a slimmer, lighter model than its predecessor.
The spec, however, is most assuredly Mini compared to its big brother, placing it more in the mid-range bracket. It has a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megpixel camera with LED flash (likely the same setup as the Galaxy S3).
According to leaks the Galaxy S4 Mini could also have 4G connectivity and microSD capability for cards up to 32GB. It’ll run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the TouchWiz UI on top, as per usual.

Previous rumours claim the Galaxy S4 Mini will be announced by Samsung very shortly and we could see a release in time for the earlier end of June.
