Verizon Galaxy S4 first device to run on new AWS enhanced LTE Network

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 AWS

Verizon’s Vice President of Network Support, Mike Haberman, has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be the first device to gain access to the carriers new AWS spectrum rolling out in the next few months.

Verizon is using the AWS airwaves to help increase the capacity of its long-term evolution, or LTE, network. While Verizon will be adding more devices that can use the higher speeds, the Galaxy S4 is the only such phone currently on sale.

This is good news for all you Big Red Galaxy S4 purchasers. While the roll out of the service will only hit a few select major cities to start, it should prove to give you even faster data speeds. Now all you have to do is sit and wait for AWS to roll out and of course for Verizon to push an update to your device to turn on the capability.
