The HTC One Mini has shown up in a ‘User Agent Profile’ from HTC’s website, virtually confirming the official name of the device (previously codenamed the HTC M4).
The data also confirms the display with boast a 1280x720 pixel resolution as per previous rumours. This isn’t really surprising, the HTC One Mini is pegged as a more affordable option compared to the premium HTC One and while it still has an aluminium chassis the overall spec lower.
Still, at 4.3-inches that 720p resolution will give a pixel density of 341 pixels-per-inch. Not too shabby at all. It’s still not clear what type of display tech HTC has implemented, the regular HTC One uses Super LCD3, but this is an expensive, premium-grade setup, so the HTC One Mini will likely have something a bit more humble. Super LCD2 perhaps?
Also of note is the software version number. The HTC One Mini appears to already be running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, according to the profile. This also adds further weight to the idea that an Android 4.2.2 update to the HTC One will arrive fairly shortly, something which the company recently reiterated in conversation with Engadget.
Other rumoured specs remain unconfirmed, although consistently leaked and therefore highly likely to fit previous reports. It’s expected to pack a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
Initial release date rumours pointed towards July but we’ve now seen several reports saying August.
