HTC’s 5.9-inch phablet project, codenamed the HTC T6, may in fact be called the HTC One Max, according to reports.
JP Morgan analyst Alvin Kwock penned a note to investors in which he claimed carriers are interested in the ‘HTC One Max’ – a name no-one has heard of previously.

It does make sense for the company to use this naming convention though. In some ways it’s backed itself into a corner with the One range. It started with the HTC One X, One S and One V, then the company added the HTC One XL and the HTC One X+ as two variants of the One X flagship.
The company’s most recent flagship, the HTC One, dropped all of the alphabetical additions, but the news of HTC developing a smaller, lower-spec and lower-cost model meant we knew more would likely be on the way.
The HTC M4, as it was known, is now thought to be dubbed the HTC One Mini, which makes sense. Assuming that name is true, HTC One Max is the logical step for the other end of the spectrum, particularly as HTC One XL and One X+ are out of bounds.
Previous reports indicate the HTC T6, as it was then called, would have the same spec as the HTC One in a larger bodyshell with a 5.9-inch 1080p Full HD display.
However, subsequent leaks have conversely suggested we may see higher specs than the current flagship, with word of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor replacing the HTC One’s Snapdragon 600 and clocked as high as 2.3GHz.
It’s also said to boast a 3,300mAh battery pack, HTC’s Ultrapixel camera technology, HTC Boomsound Audio (presumably with Beats?), HTC Zoe, infrared output and optical image stabilisation.
Storage is thought to be 16GB with microSD support.
We’ll report back with more as we hear it.
