Nokia’s rumoured EOS Pureview phone, an alleged Windows Phone 8 Lumia handset pegged for a summer launch, has leaked online again this time bearing the codename ‘Elvis’.

Windows Phone Central reports the phone will not launch with this peculiar moniker, as it’s an internal codename, but it will launch in the US exclusively under AT&T. It’s not clear whether there will also be a global launch and, if so, whether it will have a different name in the US to its release elsewhere.
Typically, Nokia adopts numbered names such as the existing Lumia 920 and Lumia 925.
Continuing the Lumia line of Windows phones, the Eos will have a similar design to the Lumina 920. However, the PureView camera will cause a larger bump in the body which will not allow room for a microSD card.
Those hoping for something svelte like the Lumia 925 may be disappointed though, as the Eos will be only 1mm thinner than the chunky Lumina 920. It will feature tapered edges in an attempt to hide the camera bulge.
Inside the yellow polycarbonate body, there will be 32GB of storage, according to WPCentral sources. No other colours were specifically mentioned but Nokia usually offers a range of shades.
The big feature is the PureView 41-megapixel camera which will be similar to what we saw in the Symbian-powered Nokia 808. It will reportedly sport a Xenon flash and will automatically take both a 35-megapixel shot and 5-megapixel shot at the same time – giving you one to save and a smaller filesize for sharing.
The Nokia EOS is also rumoured to include the new Nokia Pro Camera app. This app includes effects and tools such as an 11x zoom, anti-shake, manual focus, face detection and a self timer.
Additionally, a ‘flip-to-silence’ feature sends calls straight to voicemail by flipping the phone upside-down – something we’ve seen on HTC phones in the past.
WPCentral’s report says the Nokia EOS is arriving on July 9 and there are ‘no visible’ changes to the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
It’s also worth pointing out the rumoured spec includes an OLED display with a 1280x768 pixel resolution, so it won’t be boasting a Full HD 1080p screen. Microsoft recently revealed the next major Windows Phone update would add support for Full HD displays.
