Many of you would have heard that Instagram updated their app yesterday to add a video function that replicates the function that Vine has been providing for some time now. Furthermore, early reports suggest that users are liking the Instagram take on video social media more with more options and ease of use; Mashable reported that after just 24 hours after going live, 5 million videos have already been uploaded on Instagram.
Not to be outdone, Vine has today updated their app, Vine for Android, in the hopes of halting any potential exodus. But for Android users who have only been graced with the option of getting Vine earlier this month, it might be too late for the 2.8 rating app to steal them away from Instagram. The update, which is live now, includes sharing to Facebook, ability to add hashtags and mentions to videos, and several enhancements to capture quality and functionality.
