Apple CEO Tim Cook has allegedly told Apple Store managers that the company is readying ‘an army of new products’ for its Autumn launch schedule.
The Apple head honcho previously told reporters during an earnings call that Apple would launch all of its new 2013 products in the Autumn. But according to 9to5Mac’s ‘multiple people familiar with the internal event,’ Cook recently also spoke at a ‘secretive’ meeting of global Apple retail leaders in San Francisco.

Supposedly describing the iPhone as Apple’s ‘gateway product’, Cook allegedly has expressed his concern that around 80 per cent of iPhones are not sold via Apple’s retail stores.
According to the report, attending store leaders ‘left the summit feeling confident about Apple’s fall product pipeline,’ with one manager quoted as saying we should expect ‘an army of new products this fall.’ Fall, of course, being American for Autumn.
That chimes in pretty well with what rumours have been saying. It’s currently expected we’ll see an iPhone 5S appearing in September with a budget iPhone Light in range of colours either landing at the same event or within a matter of weeks.
Following that, the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 are thought to follow 2012’s launch schedule of arriving together at the same event in October.
None of this is concrete of course, but Apple is a creature of habit and the fact remains it’s got a big product portfolio to announce in a relatively short space of time.
These rumours from Apple’s clandestine meetings only lend further weight to the idea of a jam-packed Autumn period as far as Apple launches are concerned.
