Today is a big day. Google‘s announcement event, fondly being called ‘Breakfast with Sundar Pichai’, is hotly anticipated to be the place where we finally heard some big news about Android, and as Pichai is also head of Chrome, perhaps some Chrome related news too. I’m sure we speak for the entire Android community when we say we have high expectations of this event, and anything short of at least announcing the new Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would be more than slightly disappointing.
There are a few other rumours here and there that allude to possible announcements: Google has apparently updated Google Music with some extra features, one known as ‘Chromecast’, as found by Android Police, and its even possible that we might see the Android-based media player tagged as the Nexus Q’s successor that we’ve heard rumours about since Google I/O. Whatever is announced, it’s likely to be Christmas in July for Android junkies like ourselves.
Unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough to get a seat at the exclusive event, however we do have the next best thing: the official Google livestream, no less. Currently it’s counting down to the 9am PST start time, so for those of you like me in a non-American timezone, I hope you can keep your eyes open. The Google livestream can be watched below:
