Every summer since 2002, the City of Paris organizes a month-long event that transforms the Seine river into a beach. Tons of sand from Normandy is transported by Lafarge (@lafargegroup) to the Seine by boat to create a temporary beachfront complete with free concerts, a floating swimming pool and a shuttle ferry linking the two riverbanks. Over four million people will visit Paris Plages’s three main locations over the course of the next 30 days.
