Nokia will roll out its Nokia Amber update to Windows Phone 8-powered Lumia handsets in August, according to a post by the company on its Spanish Twitter account.
The post reads: ‘The Amber update for Nokia Lumia range with WP8 arrive in August giving the same user experience as #Lumia925.’

The main change for current Lumia models will be the introduction of Nokai’s Smart Camera app which debuted on the Lumia 925. The app allows you to edit captured photos on the fly with an intuitive interface and you’re able to perform a number of actions such as removing people who walk in front of the camera, create and edit multi-stage action shots, add a motion blur and select ‘best faces’.
Other tweaks include enabling FM Radio in all Windows Phone 8 Lumia models except the Lumia 620, adding a double tap wake-up function, flip-to-silent and a low-power night-time clock.
Nokia is expected to announce its EOS PureView smartphone, now thought to be called the Lumia 1020, with a 41-megapixel camera on July 11 at an event in New York. Rumours also suggest the company is hard at work on quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-powered handsets which may also feature 1080p Full HD displays as both these capabilities are pegged to be introduced with the next major Windows Phone 8 update set to arrive before the end of the year.
We’ll be covering Nokia’s launch as it happens so stay tuned for all the info.
