The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active may be available in the UK from Monday July 15, Know Your Mobile has learned.
The tip from UK retailer Expansys says that word from an official Samsung supplier points to a stock arriving in time for July 15. Expansys even added that it could even be available from the end of this week, July 12, at the very earliest.
‘As always though this could change, but it’s the latest and best info we have about this device,’ said Expansys’ spokesperson.
The Galaxy S4 Active is Samsung’s ‘rugged’ Galaxy S4 variant and has IP67 certification, meaning it’s water, dust and shock resistant and can be dropped into up to a metre of water safely. It’ll also take snaps and record video underwater with a dedicated mode on the camera. The Galaxy S4 Active will be available in grey, blue or orange.
The display is a 1920x1080 pixel Full HD LCD with a pixel density of 440 pixels-per-inch (ppi) for some sharp, colourful visuals. Inside there’s the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip as you’ll find powering the main Galaxy S4 flagship and clocked at 1.9GHz with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU).
Users get 11.2GB of onboard storage from the 16GB total while microSD support allows cards up to 64GB. The phone has full 4G LTE and HSPA+ 3G connectivity along with Wi-Fi, microUSB, Bluetooth, NFC, an infrared blaster, GPS and MHL TV-Out. Power comes from a 2,600mAh battery pack and the camera is rated at 8-megapixels with an LED flash and 1080p video capture.
