The white Nexus 4 has been withdrawn from sale on Google Play.
If you were hoping to get your hands on the limited edition white version of the Nexus 4, you’re bang out of luck as both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the devices, are now showing on Google Play as ‘No Longer Available’. The black version of the device is still well and truly in stock but we’d predict that eBay will be the only place you’ll be able to snap up a white one from here on in.
In reality, the white version was never going to be around for long, as is the way with a limited edition hardware, but this was a kind of 'Aaaaand It’s gone!' moment which is usually only the remit of kids magicians, leaving us all wishing we’d had some kind of notice before it was unceremoniously yanked from the Google Play Store.
With the impending launch of the next device from Google, expected to be the Nexus 5 it’s no surprise that Google might be making space on its virtual shelves for newer hardware, although we’ll save our excitement for when the black edition of the Nexus 4 starts mysteriously disappearing from the shelves, as that’ll likely mean that the next-gen Nexus is well and truly on its way.
The relevant pages for the white Nexus 4 are still on the site, but with devices being shown as ‘No Longer Available’ rather than ‘Out of Stock’, we’re definitely not expecting the device to become available through Google again, although whether the pages are being used as placeholders for a white Nexus 5 is another matter altogether!

There were rumours that the white Nexus 4 would launch with Android 4.3 onboard, but they were shortly put to bed after nothing new was announced at Google I/O in May.
