Apple may be launching its iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 tablets on September 10, the same day it’s thought to be launching the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones, contrary to earlier rumours which said they’d arrive later in the year.
What’s interesting is that the word comes via Bloomberg, a reputable financial publication known for having a good track record when it comes to Apple-related info.
The Bloomberg article said that Apple ‘plans to introduce new versions of its phone and tablet at a Sept. 10 event,’ and attributes the information to a ‘person familiar with the matter.’
The report also makes reference to ‘several more game changers’ as Apple is thought to be planning an all out assault on the mobile space following Samsung’s rise to prominence via Android.
It’s been widely circulated for some time that Apple will introduce the iPhone 5S on September 10, it’s less clear whether or not the iPhone 5C, Apple’s colourful budget model, will also appear on the same day, but this idea has been generally accepted as quite likely.
Previously it was thought Apple’s iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 would arrive later in the year, with October being pegged as the month to watch, although other sources have claimed Apple’s iPad efforts may have been facing delays which could put it back even as far as early 2014.
Now though it would seem everything is arriving at once. The iPad 5 is believed to be getting a makeover to bring its visual style more in line with the iPad Mini, while the iPad Mini 2 is thought to be largely the same as the original but with enhanced hardware, including the processor, camera, and a Retina display.
