Google Play Music All Access, the Android-maker’s music service announced at the Google I/O conference in May, is now available to Android device users in the UK and Europe.
The service launched in the US during the same month in which it was announced, but we’ve had to wait a little while to get it on this side of the pond. Other EU countries gaining access to the service include Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain.
Google Play Music All Access is Google’s take on subscription-based music streaming services, such as Spotify and the recently announced Apple iTunes Radio.
For a monthly subscription fee you gain unlimited access to Google’s entire music catalogue via Google Play – meaning you can access tunes via your Android phone, tablet and through your computer’s web browser.
There’s the dedicated Google Play Music Android app to make things a bit easier, which of course you can download for free via Google Play (it’s also pre-installed on most Android devices), but you can also sign up at play.google.com/music.
If you sign up before September 15 your subscription fee will be £7.99 per month for the life of that subscription, but anyone signing up after that point will pay the normal price of £9.99 per month. In either case you get the first thirty days at no charge as a free trial.
As well as unlimited access to Google’s multi-million track music catalogue, subscribers won’t be subjected to advertisements, can create personalised radio stations based on track or artist choices, receive smart recommendations based on the tracks you listen to and opt for a continuous, uninterrupted stream of new tracks.
