Another iPhone 5 has exploded in Chine, this time injuring a lady's eye.
According to Da Lian Evening News, the explosion happened as the woman named as Li was phoning her friend while at work.
The 40-minute call led the iPhone 5 to heat up, so she tried to end the call but the touchscreen failed. The iPhone 5 exploded shortly after.
Li said here eye was stuck closed after the explosion and shrapnel was embedded under her eyelid.
She then sought medical attention and her doctor reported there was a scratch on her eye, caused by debris from the exploding phone.
Li bought the iPhone 5 in September last year and although she had accidentally dropped the phone before, it only created a small dent in the chassis of the device.
Apple said it would investigate into the incident, but the damage would not be covered under warranty.
There have been multiple reports of smartphones exploding in recent weeks, with one death, one man left in a coma and a third man's home destroyed by an exploding Samsung Galaxy S4 device.
Apple is now urging people to use genuine chargers only and has in fact start rolling out a plan to exchange non-genuine chargers with genuine chargers in an attempt to stop iDevices exploding.
