The Nokia Lumia 625 is arriving with UK retailers from August 8 with a SIM free price of £249.99.
According to Expansys, Nokia’s official supplier is pegging the arrival date as August 8, so we can likely expect to see UK networks also offering the handset from that date on contracts.
The spec includes a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage, plus a microSD slot for cards up to 64GB. There’s full 4G LTE and HSPA+ 3G support and the phone uses a microSIM. The display is a 4.7-inch IPS LCD panel with an 800x480 pixel resolution at 201 pixels-per-inch (ppi).
Onboard camera tech uses Carl Ziess optics in a 5-megapixel setup with LED flash and 1080p video capture. It also incorporates Nokia’s Smart Camera app and Nokia Cinemegraph for composing moving GIF images.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DLNA, microUSB and GPS while the battery is a 2,000mAh unit.
The Nokia Lumia 625 shuns Nokia’s previously more rounded-off designs seen on its cheaper handsets with an elongated rectangular form, although it still has smooth corners. As usual, the back panel comes in a range of bright colours including orange, green and yellow, as well as the standard black and white options.
Naturally the phone runs Windows Phone 8 and although it doesn’t ship with it onboard it will be updated shortly with the Nokia Amber patch.
