The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may not be available as a 16GB storage variant according to reports.
Reputable Samsung source SamMobile received information from its sources on shipping dates for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet and Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, both of which are expected to be announced on September 4 at a Samsung Unpacked event a few days prior to IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany.
According to the source, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will start shipping in September while the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch will arrive by October. The source also ‘confirmed’ Samsung is ‘dropping the 16GB storage variant’.
The handset is believed to be hitting different regions with different versions, with reports indicating that as with the Galaxy S4 there will be both Exynos 5 Octa eight-core models (with no 4G LTE) heading for Asian markets while the rest of the world will be treated to Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-powered quad-core models with 4G LTE support and between 2GB and 3GB of RAM.
The phone is also thought to have full microSD 64GB card support, a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and, of course, the obligatory S-Pen stylus.
The display is now thought to be a 5.68-inch Super AMOLED which will still retain the 1920x1080 pixel full HD resolution as per previous rumours. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is also expected, of course layered with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and some custom stylus interface elements. The battery is believed to be a 3,200mAh unit and if Samsung stays true to form it will be removable.
