Sony Honami appears in leaked IFA teaser?

The Sony Honami is alleged to have leaked online via an official Sony teaser image

A picture has leaked online which allegedly comes from an official Sony teaser for its IFA 2013 event in Berlin on September 4, and it’s suggested the device may be the Sony Xperia i1 Honami flagship.

The image emerged via Chinese forum Digi-Wo and the September 4 date is clearly stamped on the bottom, it appears to show the Xperia i1 Honami viewed from the right-hand-side. As usual with teaser shots it’s an obscure angle and the lighting is deliberately moody so as to obscure much of the device and only show a little bit of it.

We can see Sony’s signature round power button which has been present on its most recent batch of devices as well as that distinctive ‘panelled’ detailing along the edges. There’s also what could be a volume rocker and SIM tray and a purple colour scheme as with previous Xperia models.

Previous rumours suggest the Sony Xperia i1 Honami will feature a 5-inch Triluminos LCD display with Sony’s X-Reality Engine enhancements and a Full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution.

Inside will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at around 2.3GHz with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, and a 3,000mAh battery.

The camera is going to be something quite special – it's a 20-megapixel Exmor RS back-illuminated sensor (BSI) camera with Sony ‘aspheric’ G-Lens tech, BIONZ for mobile tech, Xenon flash and a Cybershot branded interface.

The device is pegged to be 8.3mm thin with Sony’s now almost standard water and dust resistance certifications.

We’re going to be in attendance at IFA 2013 and will be keeping an eye out for all the juicy details on September 4. Stay tuned.
