Acer has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Liquid S2, complete with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and 4K video recording.
The Acer Liquid S2 joins the current crop of Snapdragon 800-toting flagships with a 2.2GHz clockspeed, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2. But it’s more of a phablet really with its 6-inch IPS LCD with a full HD 1080p resolution at 368 pixels-per-inch (ppi). The whole thing is just shy of 9mm thick.
A 3,300mAh battery pack should ensure you don’t run out of power too quickly, though it is non-removable. There’s 16GB of onboard storage and microSD support for 128GB cards.
The camera is also shaping up to be an impressive offering with a 13-megapixel back-illuminated sensor (BSI), f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, as well as Ultra HD video capture. A 2-megapixel front-facing BSI secondary sits on the front for video calls with the same f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video capture.
Being Snapdragon 800-powered, the Liquid S2 comes with a full set of data connectivity including 4G LTE and HSPA+ 3G. There’s also Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC. Acer has loaded its custom ‘Float UI’ on top of Google’s software.
