Samsung takes aim at Google Glass with ‘Gear Glass’

Look surprised when we tell you this next bit of information, but Samsung is looking to introduce its own take on Google Glass. Called — wait for it — Gear Glass, it’s expected that the wearable tech will make its way into the market by April/May 2014.

To say that we didn’t see this coming would be an outright lie; Samsung loves to throw just about anything at a wall just to see what sticks. Let’s hope that the Gear Glass works a little more openly with other Android devices or smartphones than its Galaxy Gear. More importantly, let’s see what we can do about that name. Seriously… why not Galaxy Eye?
