During a recent speech in Germany, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk was asked a question concerning apps development for the Model S. In response, he stated that the company plans to open up an Android emulator and include it in future models. This, according to Musk, would come after Tesla worked on localization and a browser upgrade to Chrome.
For those not sure what an Android emulator would bring to a car, it would allow users to run Android applications in a window within the vehicle’s Linux-based interface system.
Musk expects development to open up “towards the end of next year”.
