Today, November 13, Amazon has officially started shipping the Kindle Fire HDX in the UK, which comes packed with a 2.2GHz processor and the latest Fire OS 3.0, “Mojito” software, all on a HD 7-inch screen.
The new Fire HDX has new features like the Kindle FreeTime, and expanded X-ray for films and TV viewing that are only offered on the HDX tablet.
Among the new features offered, Amazon introduces the Mayday Button, which offers Kindle Fire HDX users the help of a live, on-screen Amazon expert with the touch of a button, ready and able to guide you through any feature on your Kindle Fire HDX. Or, if you’re easily frustrated, the expert can just do the task for you. Mayday is offered 365 days a year, 24/7, with an average of 15-second response time. Oh, and did we mention that it’s free?
Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President of EU Amazon Kindle said that he thinks customers are going to love the Kindle Fire HDX because it comes, “With a beautiful 323 ppi perfect-colour HDX display, 3x the processing power, 2x the memory, 4x the graphics performance, and Fire OS 3.0.” He adds that the company “can’t wait to get this tablet into our customers’ hands.”
