Atheer Labs unveils IndieGoGo smartglasses project

The Atheer One shows potential and is currently being financed by a project on IndieGoGo

An IndieGoGo project is creating smartglasses to rival the likes of Google Glass and Vuzix M100. The Atheer One is looking for funding on crowd sourcing site IndieGoGo and is still in the early stages of development.

It will supply a 65-degree field of view with 1048 x 785 resolution on each eye, alongside two 8MP cameras. There’s also a 3D depth sensor for hand recognition meaning you can use your hands to control what’s going on in front or your eyes.

The good news is the Atheer One has already reached its minimum funding goal and you could get your hands on a pair if you donate $450.

The galsses work by connecting to your smartphone via a micro-USB which is a downer – where's the Bluetooth!? But it can output 3D video, respond to gesture, voice and head motion commands and – best of all – it only weighs 75g.

If you want to know more details about the project watch the video below which accompanies the campaign.

Atheer One looks like a reliable and interesting alternative to Google Glass and other competitors.
