A new iPhone app lets you lip-sync along to tracks by British rap star Tinie Tempah. The app automatically detects songs from Tinie’s new album and automatically lip-syncs to an image of his lips rapping.
It’s called Rap Demonstration, you can download it here, and it indentifies any song from the new album, and even some of the older songs, no matter what device they’re being played on. The app can even work if the track is playing in a night club.
From there it can detect what part of the track is playing and then plays the video of him rapping, you can then move the iPhone up to your lips to make it look like you. It works quite well on a bunch of different celebrities including The Queen, David Cameron and Nicholas Cage.
The app is developed by We Make Awesome Sh. Alongside Tempah and his record label. The developer had to create new technology so it could identify what part of the song was playing. Apps such as Shazam can find the song but not the exact point in it.
This technology could make for some interesting new features in music identification technology apps such as Shazam. In the meantime, you can use it to make it look like you’re as good at rapping as Tinie Tempah.
