Samsung hasn’t yet unleashed the Galaxy S5 onto consumers around the world - it's coming real soon, mind - but we’ve seen potential specs for the miniature version leaked already.
According to website SamMobile, which was handed the leaked specs by an anonymous source, the S5 mini will have some promising hardware onboard.
According to the leak it will have a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display at 720p. There will also be a quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU alongside 1.5GB of RAM.
Storage options will be limited to 16GB, it will run Android 4.4 KitKat and there will be a 2,100mAh battery pack inside. Camera hardware includes an 8MP sensor on the back and a 2MP setup on the front.
Just like the Samsung Galaxy S5, the mini will feature IP67 protection which makes the phone dust proof and water resistant. Samsung claims it can handle 30 minutes in less than a metre of water.
Samsung specialist website SamMobile knows its stuff when it comes to the Samsung flagship products, so we have some trust in this list of specs. There is always the possibility we’ve been had though - that’s the problem with anonymous sources.
It is early to start hearing specifications for the Galaxy S5 mini but it’s likely the manufacturers are getting to work on the handset already. Will you be waiting until the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini or will you grab the S5 as soon as you can?
We previously saw the handset confirmed by a case manufacturer which listed the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini alongside the S5 Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1820.
