LG announced its first foray into the world of flexible smartphones back in October last year. What resulted was the LG G Flex handset, which features a bendable display and a self-healing back cover.
Once you scratch it up, if you give it a couple of minutes, it’ll actually heal itself meaning you don’t need to worry about putting it in your pocket with keys and the like.
It seems LG is going to continue down the path of flexible displays, according to a tweet by @evleaks. The trusted source revealed the new handset will be coming in early 2015, mid-Q1 to be exact which should be at some point during February.
The tweeter also said it may come with a “feature even more unique than self-healing plastic.” We don’t know exactly what that new feature would be but LG isn’t usually afraid to experiment with new technology.

One report late in 2013 suggested the next LG G Flex handset would be even more bendable with it safely reaching a 90 degree angle without breaking. Nothing from that report was confirmed though so it could be something entirely different.
The current display on the original G Flex isn’t particulary impressive so maybe it’ll improve that too. At the moment it’s a 6-inch display with a 720 x 1280 resolution meaning a 245ppi pixel density. Could LG knock it up to a 1080p display for the G Flex 2? We sure hope so.
Have you got any ideas about what LG could introduce with the next handset? Let us know in the comments below no matter how wacky or off the wall they may be.
