The LG G3 has leaked quite a bit already but a new image has emerged showing what the material finish on the handset’s bodywork will be like.
The snap comes via an unnamed tipster who sent it in to PhoneArena, and show an apparent brushed metal effect in black/grey, white/silver, and gold, however, according to the report this is merely a stylistic finish on the plastic bodywork. The report doesn’t specify whether the tipster explained that the phone is plastic, if it’s based on other information, or if it’s just an assumption.
In any case, the LG G3 is looking a bit more like the HTC One M8 and iPhone 5S, although allegedly without the actual metal.
The anonymous source did re-affirm the previously rumoured 5.5-inch display size – LG itself recently announced its latest 5.5-inch panel but did not clarify that it would be on the LG G3 specifically, only hinting that the company’s “next flagship” would carry it. Even without absolute confirmation, it’s pretty easy to put two and two together. Another part of the tip claims that the phone will feature a removable back panel – that doesn’t necessarily mean the battery will also be removable, but we can hope.
LG has already announced a big launch event for May 27, of course it has not specified what it’s for, but has already started teasing the LG G3 as it usually does ahead of flagship launches. Hopefully we’ll get a full reveal towards the end of the month.
