Tinder is full of people making horrific mistakes, here's how to avoid some of them

Likelihood is you’ll know all about Tinder by now, if not head on over to our beginners guide and set yourself up. When used properly Tinder can be a gold mine, but if you don’t use it properly one false step can ruin everything and blow up all your hard work.

Here are some simple tips and tricks that should help you avoid the mistakes a lot of people make when using Tinder.

Lots Of Photos

Don’t just have one photo, it’s off putting and makes you look like a potential fake. A good variety of photos is best and no less than 3 is the rule. At least this way the swipers can see you’re at least real. Try to have a few photos of you in social situations as well, not just those professional shots where you look dazzling.

Focus!

You won’t believe the amount of people on Tinder who upload photos out of focus. Maybe its a sign of their lack of confidence in themselves but people aren’t going to swipe right if they can’t see your face properly. The world of Tinder is a ruthless place so you need to choose some strong photos.

Avoid The Crowds

Don’t get yourself lost amongst your friends faces. Remember Tinder doesn’t specify who in the photo you really are so if you use group shots those flicking left and right will have no chance of working out which one is you.

Use Your Pets

Everybody loves an animal lover, within reason. Stick your mug right next to an animal and you’ll seem way more attractive to the opposite sex. It’s a fact.

No Nudity

No matter how much you want to show off that beach body, it’s not for Tinder. No one wants to see that as their first impression, especially if you’re using Tinder for the chance of a long term relationship. It just makes you look like a tool.

Simple Profile Text

A couple of words does the job, explain a little bit about yourself but don’t go into massive detail. Key facts only, no-one is going to sit there to read a 500 word essay before deciding which way to swipe.

Show Off Your Interests

Tinder will match you with those who are interested in the same thing. To do this you need to update or make public your interests on Facebook. If you love particular movies, hobbies or sports make them known and you may be matched up with some like minded people.

Just Don’t Lie

This isn’t for a technical perspective; just don’t fill your profile with lies. You may end up getting on a date by lying but it won’t go well if you’re found out.
