Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPthriftshop

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes & hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post announcing the weekend’s project every Friday.

The goal this weekend is to explore your local thrift shop or flea market and come back with creative photos to share. Some tips to get you started:

• You can find all sorts of treasures and oddities at thrift shops. Gather a few of your favorites and stage them in a neatly organized composition.


• Second-hand clothing is often a great window into the styles of the past. Grab a friend, bring home a few vintage finds and experiment with staging a fashion shoot.


• Thrift shops and flea markets are often fascinating places on in their own right. Explore the space and look out for natural photo opportunities as you stumble upon them.
