Rumours suggest there will be two different versions of the iPhone 6, one with a 4.7in display and another with a 5.5in display.
A dummy unit for one version has been spotted in an Italian phone network store window. The dummy confirms the power button will be moving to the right hand side of the handset following the expansion of the screen. It also looks like it’s pretty thin, the rumours of a 7mm chassis may turn out to be true.
There are no images of the back of the device, but considering this is an official phone network shop it’s likely this is the design we’ll see on the September 9 unveiling.
Other reports are suggesting the price of the handset is bound to be higher than we’ve seen before on an iPhone. Apple doesn’t usually offer its handsets on the cheap, high prices go hand in hand with the latest iPhone.
The reports come from Europe and suggest Apple is trying to negotiate with networks to offer the 4.7in version of the handset for more than the iPhone 5s cost at launch.
Spain’s Telefonica is reportedly being offered the new handset for an RRP of €750 (£595). The iPhone 5s cost between €650 to €700 without subsidies included when it was first released.
The sources at Telefonica also suggested Apple wants them to charge €950 for the 5.5in iPhone phablet. A straight up conversion means the iPhone 6 phablet would cost £755 in the UK. Would you pay that for a larger iPhone phablet? We're guessing a lot of people won't.
Of course when you’re talking phone contracts and upgrades it’s not like parting with that much money on the day, though you often end up paying even more in the long run.
We recently heard that the iPhone 6 will launch with the same colour options as the iPhone 5s. Now all that remains is to wait until September 9 when the company will reveal the handsets to the world.
