Smartwatches are the future, did you not know? Every manufacturer seems to be at work on a smartwatch at the moment and now HP wants a piece of the wearables pie. Mmmm, wearable pie.
HP has confirmed it’s working on a smartwatch but wants to make sure it’s a fashionable accessory and is actually wearable in public. To do so, HP has joined forces with fashion designer Michael Bastian to create a more fashionable smartwatch than the competition.
It’ll come in a 44mm stainless steel case with a multilayered finish and will feature with three different swappable bands. Your wristband choices are black rubber, brown leather and olive green nylon. A limited edition version will also come with black bodywork.
We’re not sure just yet how the smartwatch will work exactly, it’s been confirmed it will come with its own official app compatible with iOS and Android. That app allow you to sync it up to your phone so you can get your notifications or be able to control your music from your wrist. We haven’t managed to see the device in action yet so it’s not that clear how exactly it will work.
We do know the smartwatch will be available in the US before the end of 2014, there’s no official information on whether the HP smartwatch will be coming to the UK.
And as for price, there were no details shared, but we can’t imagine it’s going to be particularly cheap. We’ll share pricing details with you once we have some.
