User guides
Back in 2011, Apple introduced the iPhone 4s alongside the iOS 5 update. It came with a new idea, the first intelligent voice assistant dedicated to your smartphone. Others have followed since including the likes of Cortana and Google Now, but Siri was the one to kick it all off on the Apple range of products.
Quite a lot of the fun had with Siri is asking it silly questions such as “Do you love me?” or “What’s the meaning of life?” Either that or heading in and changing your name, there’s nothing better than asking Siri to refer to you as the Lord Emperor Of Planet Earth.
Some Siri pranksters and users don’t actually know you can change the voice of Siri from female to male and vice-versa. Here’s how you can change the voice of Siri to whichever sex you desire.
Head Into Settings
Find the grey cog app on your iOS device, it’ll be named Settings. Tap it to jump inside and then head to the General tab. It should again be a grey cog and comes just before the Display & Brightness section.
Find The Siri Tab
Inside General there are quite a few options, you want to find the section called Siri. It should be above the Spotlight Search and below the Software Update tabs.
Change The Gender
Here’s where you can switch all the settings for Siri around. You can turn the entire Siri service off or change the input language. You can also change your name under the My Info tab.
The bit you want is Voice Gender, press on it and you can switch it between Female or Male.
Test It Out
Now head out of the app once you’ve made your decision. From there be sure to ask Siri a question and experiment with whichever voice you want to use. Just follow these steps once again if you want to change Siri back to the opposite gender.
