Capturing Everyday Inspiration on an iPad with @spiritus_ottavi
On this day ten years ago, the iPod was unveiled to the world. Today, the iPod and its bigger cousin the iPad are opening new avenues for creativity. To see more of Roberto’s digital creations, follow @spiritus_ottavi on Instagram.
“When I create, I look at it as a different language that allows me to share my emotions, my energy,” explains Roberto Esquerra (@spiritus_ottavi), a hospital receptionist and self-taught artist who paints on his iPad. “I always look at the world and wonder how I can recreate what I see and make it into my own language.”
“It doesn’t matter to me if I use crayons on a piece of cardboard,” Roberto says. “What matters is allowing myself to create and be open.” As someone who comes across inspiration at unexpected moments, Roberto finds a tablet’s portability and versatility liberating. “The advantage is that you can create anywhere you are.”
