Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPalterego

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes and hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a post announcing the weekend’s project every Friday.

As Halloween approaches, we’re kicking off a week of spooky features with a special dress-up Weekend Hashtag Project. The goal this weekend is to take a creative self-portrait that captures another side of your personality. Some tips to get you started:

• Spend some time beforehand getting in touch with your alter ego. This is an opportunity to share a side of you others may not know.


• As stores prepare for Halloween, face paint, props and costumes are readily available. Look for what’s on sale and let your creativity run wild.


• Finally, as you shoot your self-portrait, don’t forget to think about your environment and lighting. Your surroundings help tell your story.

PROJECT RULES: Please only add the #WHPalterego hashtag to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any tagged image taken over the weekend is eligible to be featured Monday morning.
