Facebook: Unfollowing Just Got A Lot Easier

Unfollowing those annoying Facebook friends, groups and pages is now even easier in the Settings menu

News

Depending on the company you keep on Facebook, your feed can sometimes become a breeding ground for banal posts. A lot of users are now finding the platform is just full of shareable articles, pointless videos and a couple of adverts sprinkled on top for good measure.

Facebook understands the plight of those who just want to be able to connect with friends and family. We just want to see the latest important events in peoples lives without having to read about the latest quiz on What Frozen Character You’d Be.

Last December, Facebook introduced the unfollow button. It meant you can ensure those annoying people who post a lot of guff on Facebook won’t appear in your News Feed without having to unfriend and run the risk of upsetting them.

Now Facebook has introduced a list of friends, Pages and Groups in the News Feed Settings menu that will show how much people contribute to Facebook in a week. Those that contribute the most will appear at the top of the list and from there you’ll be able to directly unfollow them.

This should allow you to keep track of those who are eating up your news feed space. Facebook will continue to track all those you have unfollowed allowing you to follow them back at any time you want to.

A new update will also mean when you press the arrow at the top right of a post and hit “hide” it’ll ask whether you want to see less from that source in the future.

The update is available right now on both mobile and desktop. Head into your News Feed settings to check out all the new features and get unfollowing those most annoying sources on your News Feed.
