HTC set itself a tight turnaround to get the Android Lollipop software onto both the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7. It said the company would release it 90 days after receiving the source code from Google meaning it’ll come out right at the start of February.
Another rumour does suggest the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will in fact launch on January 3 but it is certainly going to be with us by the first few days in February.
A new leak has meant we’ve seen the software running in some screenshots. It shows off how the software will look with the Sense 6.0 overlay as well.
The following screenshots, from LlabTooFer, come showing Android 5.0.1 with Sense 6.0 running as well. The notable tweaks come in the form of the lock screen notifications much like stock Android 5.0. There is also an easier to get to quick settings and then there’s also Lollipop’s Recent Apps menu.
The big change in the next screenshot is the addition of a search feature in the Settings menu meaning you can new “Easy Mode” that accesses a simpler big version of the layout making it easier to use if you have bad eyesight.
We didn’t expect HTC to take much from Android Lollipop as it continues to force its Sense 6.0 UI on its customers.
For a full look at when Android 5.0 Lollipop is hitting each manufacturers smartphone have a little look at our round-up here or why not have a look through our review of the new software here.
