Samsung Galaxy S6 Rumoured To Launch at CES 2015

Rumours suggest Samsung’s Galaxy S6 will be coming a little earlier than expected at the event in January

News

It’s no secret Samsung is working on a new flagship handset. Rumours have suggested it’ll be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2015 in March, a full year after the Galaxy S5 launched.

According to a new report from Korean publication Chosun Biz the Galaxy S6 will instead be unveiled between January 6 and 9. The website cites analysts from Mirae Asset Securities, a South Korean company, that believes it will be coming much sooner than others have expected.

Those dates coincide with the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, suggesting Samsung is preparing to unveil the new phone at the event.

Take the news with a pinch of salt though, this is only one source – others have suggested we’ll still have to wait until early March for an announcement.

The analysts also shared their predictions for the Samsung Galaxy S6. According to the analysts Samsung aims to sell around 45 million units of the Galaxy S6, which will include 10 million units of the Edge variant.

Previously the specs for the Galaxy S6 have leaked through benchmarking software AnTuTu. One of the leaks suggested the specs for the Galaxy S6 will feature an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor, a 5.5in QHD display and 3GB of RAM. It is also expected to have 32GB of internal storage, a 20MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper.

There will also likely be a Qualcomm Snapdragon variant of the handset for some markets but nothing is confirmed just yet.
