“Colors actually bore me after a while,” says Ivania Carpio (@love_aesthetics), a style blogger who lives in the Netherlands. “A white shirt, on the other hand, will always be appropriate. It feels fresh and new. It is so unspecific that the possibilities become endless.”

Ivania is more interested in clothes than fashion. “Clothes are the objects that are physically the closest to us,” she says. “They are on our bodies almost at all times and become part of our identity.”

Ivanian says an absence of color allows more attention to be paid to craftsmanship. “You can really appreciate the cut and the shape of a garment if it is not covered in a colorful print or sequins,” she says. “The technical details like the kind of seams, the quality of the fabric and the tailoring get all the attention.”

And she doesn’t mind an unfinished product: “I love how clothes look in their earliest design stage — when the pattern is put together in white fabric with all the technical lines and ideas sketched on it.”
