There’s a pattern emerging as far as mobile tech is concerned at CES this year; manufacturer’s are showing their heavy-hitter devices off to a select few at secretive, private events held within the conference. So far Samsung and LG have both been caught at it, and now it seems Sony is getting in on the clandestine operations with its next flagship, the Xperia Z4.
According to Twitter personality and rumour-monger @Ricciolo1 (who, we should note, refers to himself as a “Teknological Secret Agent”, but also has a good track record for accurate Sony leaks) Sony showed off a device “in the secret room.”

While the information doesn’t explicitly state that’ it’s the Xperia Z4 being shown off, this sort of thing is actually fairly typical of Sony - we’ve seen it before with previous flagships, and there are enough solid rumours flying around at the moment suggesting a Z4 model is indeed on the way. Sony released a flagship at both MWC and IFA in 2014 (in February then September, respectively) and although we’ve heard talk of it dropping the rapid six-month cycle, we’ve also heard the opposite from other sources.
If a new flagship is indeed coming to MWC 2015, as has been implied before, then a preview at CES would both be with precedent and make a good deal of sense anyway.
