The date is set! The 11th Worldwide InstaMeet will take place on the weekend of March 21-22.
Wait, what’s an InstaMeet? Since the earliest days of Instagram, people have been meeting up to connect, take photos together and inspire one another. These real-world meetups, which come in all sizes, are known as InstaMeets. In the past year, there have been more than 1,000 in over 70 countries.
During a Worldwide InstaMeet, hundreds of gatherings happen around the globe on a single weekend. Visit community.instagram.com to begin planning your #WWIM11 InstaMeet and to connect with organizers and community members in your area.
Inspiration for your InstaMeet
Choose a photogenic location : “Planning ahead of time will guarantee a smooth experience without any setbacks. Make sure the location has enough visual richness to frame the creativity of a group of visually-hungry Instagrammers!” —@jpanleu
Be inclusive : “The main goal is to bring people who share a love and curiosity for Instagram. This will ensure that anybody who wants to take part of your initiative will feel included and indeed find a meaningful place in the meeting you organize.” —@sejkko
Spread the word : “I’ll always make what we call an ‘infogram’ to let everyone know there is a meet. The infogram usually has an image of the location with overlaid text of the location, time, date and hashtag. I then write up a short caption and add them temporarily to a blog post for anyone to download and post. That way people can easily spread the news about the InstaMeet.” —@garethpon
