My World Through Different Lenses, by @connorfranta

“#Hellomynameis Connor Franta (@connorfranta). I’m a 22-year-old creative from La Crescent, Minnesota, currently living in Los Angeles. Even at a young age, I was always interested in photography. Before I had a camera of my own, I used to steal my dad’s and take photos around my town and record videos of myself making silly commentary. One time, I even entered a piece in the county fair and, surprisingly, won Grand Champion in Photography.
Right now, I’m very busy. I post weekly content to my budding YouTube channel, I’ve just completed my first novel, which comes out this April, and I launched my own brand — Common Culture. But I still make time to take photos along the mad journey, and I draw inspiration every step of the way. In the past year, my travels have taken me across the United States, Canada, England, Italy, Australia, Swaziland, South Africa and many more countries. The different cultures, customs, architectures and lifestyles I experienced shed a new light on how I viewed the world around me. The content I created online reflected my expanded worldview.
There’s something about candidly capturing the moment I’m in, the activities I’m doing and the people I’m with that I can’t seem to get enough of. I find myself constantly transfixed by everything — from the beauty of little details to the vastness of the big picture — and can’t resist saving all of it in the form of a photo. Regardless of what type of medium I’m working with, it’s my hope that my creations inspire people to look and think differently about their surroundings. Don’t simply accept the face value of things. Try a different angle, a fresh perspective, and you may be surprised at what you see.”
